Once upon a time a beautiful teenager looked forward to school letting out and the warm, carefree days to come. But in the summer of her fifteenth year, things would drastically change. After reading a romance book sensationalizing a young woman's perfect life following the hookup with a wealthy prince charming, Elizabeth set out to create her own fairy tale ending. This would become the beginning of the darkest hours in her life pregnancy, bridesmaids, drugs and jail.

If you are this girl, you will take a deep breath and nod your head knowingly.
If you knew this girl, you will rethink your assumptions.
If this girl is your daughter, you will finally get an insider's look at what she can't put into words.

If the title of my review didn't get the message across, I don't know what will. "Fifteen & What" is a true story about a girl who falls in love at an early age with an older boy and becomes pregnant at 15. The girl, Bella, is so desperate to be an adult and have a family of her own, she researches the best ways to become pregnant, and eventually, she gets exactly what she wants. This story hits close to home for me for two reasons:
First, Elizabeth is from my hometown. In fact, she and I lived in the same apartment building and are only separated by a few years in age.
Second, and most importantly, Bella's thoughts are so similar to the way I thought at that age, even younger, actually. I will not tell my story. I am not as brave as Elizabeth and I admire her so much for her bravery and honesty. However, I will say that, had I read a book like "15 & What" when I was younger, I may have learned a thing or two and made better decisions. I know that Elizabeth has the ability to help young teens through her story.
I would recommend this book to anyone, really. I usually read paranormal and fantasy or new adult fiction, and I devoured this book! Loved this book! I cannot wait until the full story comes out, so I can find out how "Bella" deals with life as a young mother.

Fifteen What?! Testing the Waters edition by E McNew Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

I enjoyed what I have read so far. I was also a distressed teen obsessed with growing up too fast and wish that I had the guts to put all of my teenage activities on paper.
I applaud you for doing it for yourself and doing it well.
Growing up in the same small town as the author this book brings light to an all too familiar story. She does an excellent job explaining what life was like and how a teen can be driven and fantasize about wanting a baby. I can easily put myself back to when we were fifteen and all just wanting to escape home somehow. I eagerly await the next part in this story!
I really enjoyed reading this book. I also obsessed over having a child at a young age. And girls all over will be able to relate and become aware of the consequences associated with teen pregnancy!
Everyone has a past & a story that no one else has the right to judge them for it EVER,
I got the first installment of this book yesterday and eagerly await the rest of it when it comes out in October. I admire Elizabeth's courage first and foremost to tell her story and secondly to do it as in indie e-book publisher. It is fascinating to read the internal dialog of a young woman who makes a conscious decision to prepare to become pregnant and accomplish that mission in a completely pre-meditated way. I am 50 and we didn't talk about teen pregnancy when I was in High School, we whispered about it behind other girls' backs and slut shamed. For Elizabeth to choose to take her story and others like it and be transparent about the motivations and hopes that a pregnancy can seem to "solve" for a young, confused girl who wants to leave home but doesn't have the pragmatism to see beyond senior year, displays a compassion, empathy and honesty we all need at every age and stage of life.

The only criticism I have is the book is swarming with grammatical errors and could use some good copy editing. I say this from a place of wanting to protect Elizabeth from being criticized by people who may poke holes in her heroic effort by saying the writing is not good. That being said, her courage to put something out there in writing that is a good story and not worry about what anyone thinks about mistakes may just work in her favor as she teaches us all that it doesn't matter where you are, it matters where you stop. She certainly isn't going to stop making the world a better place any time soon!

YOU GO GIRL!
As the mother of 5, ranging from 15-34 years old, I have experienced many teenage dramas, thankfully none involving a pregnancy. I hope and pray my youngest girls won't change that, but if they do that God will let His grace shine through me.
What an education this book has been and I anxiously await the transition story from pregnant 15 year old to adulthood. Thank you for opening up your life to help all of us learn.
Elizabeth is a strong beautiful girl who has shown so much courage in writing this book on her love, loss and hardships. She has been a great friend to me growing up, and I have watched her grow from a young crazy, sweet, fun loving child who was lost at times into a 15 year old mother who struggled to keep a family togeter, but was also a loving parent, and cared for her children as much as any mother possibly could. In fact I had my son after she had her daughter when I was only 17, and looked up to her loving parenting skills. She was a natural mother, but was very young, and much like me, we were still finding ourselves. I then saw her ripped apart as she lost her children and was mentally, and emotionally broken. She is now still the beautiful, smart, talented woman that I used to know, only she has picked herself up after years of what I could only imagine was hell. From what I have read so far of the book, I give it a 10. I almost cried just reading the first two chapters, and could honestly relate to a lot of what she had been thinking and feeling during my own young teen years. I think its important that people can relate to things in order to make a book a good read. I can also say that the rest of the book will be not only heat warming, but also a good learning tool. It could be used as a wake-up call for young girls and boys, or just used as a good read. Elizabeth, you have truly lived a lifetime movie in a perioud of what seemed to be so few years. I love you and always have. Im proud of you for picking yourself back up! You still have that fire and strength in you that made me want to be your friend years ago. I have seen you go through so much, but I never lost faith in you. I would highly recommend this book for young teens, but also for adults. It will absolutely touch your hearts. I encourage parents to educate their children. You may be surprised at how young they could be thinking about sex, and even having children of their own.
